Our Kazakhstan Adoption

Hello, We are Joe and Steph - a couple with a young biological son who have made the decision to adopt a child from Kazakhstan. Joe also has a teenage daughter from a previous marriage. Rather than infertility, we are adopting "by choice". We made this decision after much thought and research. There are so many children in the world that need a loving home. We hope this blog will keep our friends/family informed of our progress along the way!

Still waiting

Well, it has been about a month since I last posted. We are still waiting on an update regarding our dossier. It has been at the MFA since early December. I sent an email to our agency last week to see if they had heard anything and am still waiting on a reply. The last I heard in December was that they would let us know when it went to the MOE. HOPEFULLY, maybe we will get a surprise that our dossier has already moved on and they just neglected to update us (rather than it is still sitting at the MFA)! I am surprised I haven't received any response at all - not even a "no news yet" or "let me check and get back to you" - but I don't know if the individual that I emailed was even in the office last week with it being a holiday week. I plan to give it a few more days before making a pest of myself by emailing again or calling.
It was easy to set it all aside with the holidays and December just FLEW by, but now that things have settled down and with the New Year I am anxious to hear something. I have a feeling that the wait now will really be tough!
Bryson got a globe from Santa this year and I have been showing him the different countries and oceans. He can identify where we live and where Kazakhstan is. He pointed out to me the other day - "this is where we live, and this (turning it around to Kazakhstan) is where you are going to get my baby". It was so cute! Then, as we looked at the different states in the US, he asked "but where is Publix?" - I laughed soooo hard!
I will post again as soon as I get an update (hopefully VERY soon)!
